Recently, the Pingguang Pharmaceutical Solar PV Project, constructed by Toyon Energy, was successfully completed and connected to the grid. Through customized solutions tailored to local conditions, Toyon Energy transformed idle factory rooftops into a “green power station”.

For many manufacturing companies, production cannot stop, but high electricity costs continue to reduce profit margins. Every kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed becomes a burden on the bottom line. So where can the solution be found?

The answer may not be inside the factory workshop.

It may be above your head — on those overlooked rooftops.

With a 2.76MW solar PV array, sunlight is now converted into reliable clean electricity, directly powering production lines and supporting continuous factory operations.

Four Solar Solutions Unlock the Full Potential of Factory Space

The Pingguang Pharmaceutical facility features complex rooftop structures, including flat concrete roofs, color steel tile warehouses, rooftops with dense pipelines, and unused open areas. Instead of applying a standardized installation approach, Toyon Energy developed four customized solar solutions to maximize the utilization of available space — ensuring every suitable area contributes to clean energy generation.

Array Installation: Maximizing Energy Generation

For high-quality flat rooftops, Toyon Energy adopted optimized tilt-angle array layouts to maximize solar radiation absorption and improve power generation efficiency. The generated electricity is directly supplied to factory production lines, helping ensure stable energy support for daily operations.

Color Steel Roof Installation: Safe and Non-Invasive Construction

For lightweight color steel tile warehouse roofs, high-strength specialized clamps were used to secure the solar modules. The installation requires no drilling or roof penetration, protecting the original roof structure while achieving both safety and energy generation benefits.

Solar Canopy Structure: Solving Complex Rooftop Challenges

For rooftops with dense pipelines and complicated equipment layouts, Toyon Energy designed steel-structure solar canopy systems. This approach avoids modifying existing facilities and pipelines while increasing installed capacity. It also effectively eliminates potential roof leakage risks, providing a cost-effective solution for challenging rooftop environments.

Solar Carport: Dual Value from One Space

By integrating factory parking areas, Toyon Energy developed solar carport structures that provide both vehicle shade protection and clean energy generation. Previously underutilized spaces are now creating additional value while enhancing the company’s green and sustainable image.

Reliable Energy Support for Sustainable Manufacturing

As the project investor, designer, and EPC contractor, Toyon Energy delivered a comprehensive one-stop service covering the entire project lifecycle. The solution was precisely designed to meet the pharmaceutical industry’s high requirements for power reliability.

The project helps reduce industrial electricity costs, while surplus electricity can be exported to the grid for additional revenue, enabling businesses to achieve both cost reduction and low-carbon transformation.

Toyon Energy utilized high-efficiency solar modules together with dedicated inverters, ensuring precise equipment matching and efficient system coordination. The project adopts a self-consumption with surplus electricity feed-in model, allowing the factory to maximize renewable energy utilization.

The core value of a solar PV project lies not in standardized installation, but in customized and precise implementation.

Through four tailored solar solutions, the Pingguang Pharmaceutical project successfully activated various unused spaces across the factory, balancing safety, efficiency, and economic benefits. It serves as an excellent example of distributed solar PV applications for industrial facilities.

Every rooftop can create value.

Looking ahead, Toyon Energy will continue to focus on the commercial and industrial renewable energy sector, providing professional customized solar solutions to help more manufacturing companies unlock the value of unused spaces, reduce energy costs, and achieve sustainable development — turning every industrial rooftop into a source of maximum energy value.
